The Work That Doesn't Quit

You have made something. Built it, started it, tended it. And now you wonder if it matters, if God sees it, if the effort will hold. The doubt arrives quietly, not as a crisis but as a slow leak: maybe this work was never meant to be. Maybe you misread the call.

The psalmist knew this weight. He wrote to God about vindication, about love that endures, and then added something crucial: do not abandon the works of your hands. Not the works of my hands. Yours. The Lord's own hands are the ones that made you, that set you in motion, that are still at work in what you are building. Your purpose is not a solo project you are managing alone, waiting for proof it matters. It is something God has already claimed as his own work.

This changes how you read failure, delay, or invisibility. When a project stalls or no one notices the care you have poured in, it does not mean the work has been abandoned. God does not vindicate by applause or by rapid results. He vindicates by continuing. By keeping his hand on what he has started through you. The instruction from the related passages is not to figure out the entire path first, but to trust the next step, to listen for the voice that comes from behind, calling you forward on the way you should go.

Purpose is not a destination you reach and then rest. It is a direction you keep walking, held by hands that do not let go.
